About Us

Louro Wines, located in the historic centre of Évora, is an establishment founded in 1951 that preserves the tradition of classic wine specialty shops. Over more than seven decades, it has established itself as a reference space where knowledge, authenticity, and hospitality reflect the deep connection between the city, the Alentejo region, and Portuguese wine culture.

The shop presents a carefully curated selection of Portuguese wines, with particular emphasis on Alentejo, bringing together renowned producers and small independent projects that express the character of their terroir. Beyond wine, the offering also includes a refined selection of premium Cuban cigars, recognised by the Habanos Silver Point distinction, as well as other complementary products associated with the world of tasting.

More than a wine shop, Louro Wines offers guided wine tasting experiences, led by João Passos and available by prior reservation, inviting guests to explore a sensory journey of aromas and flavours. As part of the Official Partner Network of Dark Sky® Alqueva, the house further strengthens its connection to the region, offering visitors an authentic and immersive approach to the wines and culture of the Alentejo.
